I learned that sometimes you just have to "taglia corto," as we say; in other words, "cut to the chase." I teach weekly Italian Group Lessons ...

    Ciao. "Ci equilibriamo" in realtà non si usa comunemente. In riferimento, poi, alla pronuncia, è ottima, per la perfezione basta accentuare la "q" che tendi a pronunciare leggermente più come una "c" che come una "q". Comunque è una sfumatura.

    Well, I only use the Passato prossimo if the past event is still influencing the present (the prof has written something on the board - and it is still there), if I mention a time frame that is not over yet (e.g. today, this year) or if I say that I have not done something yet. In other cases, I would always use the Passato remoto. Why? Because I find the Passat prossimo very boring since I do not want to repeat always the auxiliary verbs avere and essere...

    I'm listening to you speak and got a bit teary-eyed. I'm 76 and grew up in Chicago's former "Little Italy." Most of the elderly in our neighborhood back in the 1950s were Neapolitan, Abruzzese and Calabrese immigrants; the majority in our neighborhood were Napolitani. I suddenly remembered hearing the pronunciations you use which were how my grandmother and many of her generation (born in 1900-1910) spoke. The older phrases and words you use came back to me after so many decades, now that those of that generation are now all gone. I'd hear those sentences and that lovely language all over the neighborhood and in the family-owned grocery stores, bakeries and pizzarias! Thank you.

    First of all, I wonder why would anyone ask this. But let's try to be objective. Maybe for English language speakers, for Germans, Celts and other nations that have unclear and blurred languages (not about grammar but sounds), the French is easier. But for me, Serbian, The Italian language is 80 times easier and clearer.

    I think 'ci' in 'ci penso sempre' is best translated as 'there' - I'm always thinking about there - in response to a question about coming to Italy.

  • @squeezy99
    @squeezy99 Місяць тому

    When entering in a new situation I will always prepare a framework for what I might say - my first first sentence I might practice to myself, since this'll be the one to get the ball rolling - after that I will rely on the framework of question, statements, answers that I've worked out for some of the possible ways the conversation might go. There will always be curved balls though, and not knowing how to handle those can induce panic. My strategy is to then say - mi scusi, non capisco bene, sto ancora studiando la lingua italiana - it's usually enough to get most native speakers to repeat the statement/question, and some people will even slow down when they repeat it.

    I have seen things like "Mi ci vuole qualche ora per fare la spesa" or "Mi ci vogliono due ore per fare la spesa." Can volerci be used with other indirect object pronouns like "ti" or "le" and can it be used in constructions such as "Ti ci vuole qualche ora per fare la spesa" or "A John ci vuole qualche ora per fare la spesa"?

    Ciao. Io da italiano che parla e conosce perfettamente il francese, credo che la grammatica italiana, per uno straniero sia la più complessa, questo perché non abbiamo un sistema grafico su ogni sillaba, salvo su alcune eccezioni, come esiste nelle altre lingue romanze. Ma fino all'800 esisteva anche in italiano ma fu poi eliminato. Inoltre non è vero che l'italiano si legge così come si scrive, in quanto il nostro sistema fonetico è totalmente diverso da tutte le lingue neolatine. Potrai leggere, come nello scritto, buona parte delle consonanti, ma le vocali assolutamente No. Abbiamo un sistema vocalico che richiede che si fondino l'una nell'altra, soprattutto tra due parole. Possono diventare allungate se ci sono le doppie, oppure più silenti. I plurali sono difficili per chi non è italiano, cambia la seconda parte dei termini come pure gli articoli. È difficile anche capire quando a fine parola ci vuole una i, a, e, ecc.. Mentre la grammatica francese è ricca di dittonghi che, però, ti riportano tutti e quasi sempre sullo stesso suono e una volta che li hai memorizzati ti ritrovi a pronunciare lo stesso tono, così che non ti puoi sbagliare. L'italiano vuole per ogni parola dei suoni precisi e distinti l'uno dall'altro.. Insomma per chi ama le sfide questa ti darà soddisfazioni. 😊😊
